Originating from France, now Berlin based, the creative team of Maison Vignaux combine photography, moving images, and illustration into a new form of holistic visuality. Thus, Jaques & Damien Vignaux tell sensual stories and blur the boundaries between disciplines. To balance their many passions, and to keep reinventing themselves, the couple travels a lot. These experiences are clearly visible in their astonishing work.

Where do you come from?

We come from complementary backgrounds which gives us a good overview together when we build project. I come from illustration and motion design originally, whereas Jaq comes from modelling and acting.

We feel creative because we need a way to tell the stories we have in mind. Becoming professional was just a consequence.

When did you know, you wanted to become professional creatives?

It sort of happened. We feel creative because we need a way to tell the stories we have in mind. Becoming professional was just a consequence.

How would you describe your creative process?

Our creative process is a collage of influences, it's a very layered workflow with constant back and forth between the development of an iconic visual style and exploration of new techniques and tools.

The mission of today's creatives will be to understand the change and not only offer innovative styles for existing format, but question the medium.

Each creates a unique type of creative person. What is the mission of today´s creative people?

We now live in the internet era, and it's changing the way people produce and consume images. We don't read the same way, we are switching from a linear reading logic to a multi-dimensional one. The mission of today's creative people will be to understand this change and not only offer innovative styles for existing format, but question the medium, and the broadcasting itself.
